Through immersive travel, engaging summer camps, and accessible online learning, we help students, families, and adults build meaningful connections with people, places, and perspectives beyond the classroom.

Our Story

From a shared belief in the power of immersion.

FIA Global Experience grew from a shared belief that the best way to understand a language and culture is to experience it firsthand.

Bing Liang and Teresa Mueller met in 2011, when Bing was pursuing his doctorate in education and began volunteering at Verona Area International School (VAIS), a Chinese immersion K–5 charter school founded by Teresa in 2010. Their shared commitment to language learning, cultural understanding, and immersive education quickly became the foundation for a lasting partnership.

Over the years, Bing and Teresa worked together to create hands-on cultural experiences for VAIS students and their families. They organized immersive school and family trips to China, visiting places including Beijing, Wuhan, Chengdu, Chongqing, and Xi'an.

These experiences became about much more than sightseeing. Students and families visited local schools, stayed with host families, connected with communities, and experienced the traditions and everyday life of each region.

FIA Global Experience grew from those experiences, and the belief that everyone should have the opportunity to learn, explore, and connect through culture.

Through immersive travel, engaging summer camps, and accessible online learning, we create opportunities for students, families, and adults to experience culture firsthand, build authentic connections, and develop practical language skills.

We believe learning is most powerful when it moves beyond the classroom. By connecting language with real people, places, traditions, and everyday experiences, we help learners develop curiosity, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Our goal is simple: make language and cultural learning immersive, accessible, memorable, and meaningful.
